On March 15th, 2005, diplomats from many embassies were present at the cocktail party offered by ASDIBRA - Association of Diplomats in Brasília, with the purpose of presenting the programme of events for the Association in 2005. The event was held at the Embassy of Uruguay with an atmosphere of joy and fraternity. The President of the Association, Mr. Senén Conejeros, Counsellor of Press and Culture of the Embassy of Chile, the Treasurer, Mrs. Pamela Vivas, Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of Uruguay and the General Secretary of the Association, Mrs. Maria Eugenia, Roncal Carbajal, Second Secretary of The embassy of Mexico, received the guests at the entrance of the Embassy, representing the Board of Directors of ASDIBRA.

Among the distinguished guests, Ministers, Counsellors, Secretaries from various embassies willing to learn more about the Association and enjoy the events that ASDIBRA will be promoting in 2005. Sportive tournaments, parties, cultural activities and opportunities to make friends and interact within the diplomatic and international communities in Brasília, integrate the agenda of the Association.

Mr. Senén Conejeros gave a brief speech during the reception, endorsing the importance of ASDIBRA as an institution that represents the diplomatic community and promotes benefits and activities for the well-being of the associates. In the words of Mr. Senén Conejeros, "the Association worry about the anxieties of many diplomats who feel the need to better interact with the diplomatic community, which as a result, aids in their adaptation process, along with their families, in their new lives in Brasília and the contact with Brazilian people and entities".
The President of ASDIBRA Mr. Senén Conejeros delivered a speech to the diplomats present at the event.
Mr. Senén Conejeros also mentioned the agreements between the Association and companies in Brasília, bringing benefits, discounts and opportunities to the associates and their families, such as dental care, pet shops, tour agencies, rural and adventure tourism, language schools, stores and more.
The many diplomats present at the event were motivated with the Association and the benefits of joining ASDIBRA.
This event is but the kickoff to many other that ASDIBRA plans to put together, specially at this moment when the members of the Directors, more than ever, put themselves into taking on the challenges of making this institution more active, therefore increasing the participation of the members of the Diplomatic Community.

The cocktail was sponsored by the companies BMW do Brasil and CHUBB Insurance Company. Mr. Gisbert Verse, Sales Executive for BMW, displayed two models at the event, much praised by all who were present. "BMW has plans to grow its participation together with the diplomatic community this year, and therefore, offers special conditions to acquire our new models", said Mr. Verse.
