Our organization promotes the mutual understanding between Brazil and the United States through the teaching of the English language and the promotion of cultural and educational programs. CTJ has taught English to more than 60,000 students since 1963. |

| Our regular and special courses are elaborated according to the most modern teaching techniques and our main concern is to offer our students the most professionally trained teachers and up-to date methodology and materials, always taking into account the respect for the learner's individuality and style. |
| By way of games, songs, and playful interaction - all related to "kid" culture - the Kids course familiarizes children from 6 - 8 years of age with basic vocabulary and easy-to-retain language structures. |

| he Elementary course for children of 8 - 11 years of age expands vocabulary and content which focus on themes of general interest to curious minds and those with an open-minded relationship to language. This is the age of ready sponteneity and experiential intake; extracurricular perks for motivated learners are the Cyber Club and the Cooking Class. |
| The Juvenile course offers the content and vocabulary which will seem natural to youngsters from 11 - 15 years of age, the period when they're too old for toys and still too young to drive and vote. The course structures will take students into the high intermediate or low-advanced levels of study. |

| The regular Basic course for young and older adults over the age of 15 is designed for the study of more mature subjects, a closer look at American culture, and a more academic appreciation of language paradigms. This course will take students confidently into the advanced level, and will already have provided them with the necessary linguistic tools with which to converse with native English speakers, travel, and read most non-academic popular publications and literature. |

| Special classes for adults |
|
| The special Flex course is a modular-based progression of basic level study focuses for students over 18; the groups are limited to 12 students maximum and the emphasis is definitely on speaking. The course aims to reach particularly those adults whose previous language learning experiences have made them pessimistic about success in this venture; positive interaction and rewarding results are almost guaranteed in response to the personalized attention given by the specially selected teachers! |
| The Advanced course - especially appropriate for those students who intend to use English for advance academic study, career advancement, or personal academic enhancement - is designed to further language skills acquisition in grammar, reading, writing, and speaking. It offers a wide range of approaches to these skills by way of subjects commonly explored in the globally interconnected world of today. Students with a certificate in this course will be prepared to score successfully on international proficiency tests, pass language requirements in university entrance exams, enter teacher development courses on a university level, or take any level of the Special Courses offered at this or any other language school of comparable level. |
| The Casa's Special Courses offer specialization focuses including Translation, Writing Right, Post-Graduate Grammar, Listening and Speaking Live, Current Affairs, Business English, Theater Workshop, Pre-Test, and the Teacher Development Course. |

| Libraries also known as Resource Centers: The CTJ libraries contain ample collections of books, audio and video tapes, newspapers, magazines and CD-ROMs. They are available to CTJ students and the general public interested in the English language and the American Culture. |
