The National Day of the Uruguay was celebrated at the beginning of the afternoon of the 25th of August, 2008, on which occasion the ambassador of the Uruguay, Mr. Carlos Amorín, received tens of guest on a reception at the embassy locate at the Sector of Embassy. |

The event took place on the social halls and gardens of the embassy on the beginning of the beautiful sunny afternoon and had the presence of the Brazilian Minister of Defense, Mr. Nelson Jobim, and foreign ambassadors, diplomats, military attaché, business people and members of the society of Brasília. |

The ambassador Carlos Amorín thanked the presence of all and emphasized the importance of the relations of Uruguay and Brazil. His words were followed by warm applause of those present, who afterwards listened to the anthems of Brazil and Uruguay. |

| As tradition dictates, the guests taste a typical Uruguayan barbecue in an environment of great joy and informality. Something new to the event was the degustation of Uruguayan beer, besides the famous wines of that beautiful country. |
