The Ambassador of Peru to Brazil, Mr. Hugo de Zela, honored on December 15, 2009, the Brazilian ambassador Enio Cordeiro, in an event attended by guests from the diplomatic corps and Brazilian government officials.
The award Condecoração Gran Cruz Ordem ao Mérito (Gran Cross Order of Merit) is offered for distinguished services. During the event, Ambassador Hugo de Zela delivered speech emphasizing the relevant services of the ambassador Enio Cordeiro, who also expressed words of gratitude for the Peruvian government award. After the speeches all were invited to attend a dinner celebrating the event.
