NATIONAL DAY >> Ireland Celebrates National Day

all the guestswith his charm and sympathy.
On March 16 of 2005, on St. Patrick's Day Eve, the Embassy of Ireland celebrated its National Day, at Clube Naval. The Ambassador of Ireland, Mr. Martin Greene, hosted the diplomatic community and Brazilian governemental authorities for a dinner reception.

Every year the Republic of Ireland , or the Éire, celebrates its National Day on March 17th, Saint Patrick's Day. Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland and tradition holds that it was the use of the shamrock (a green trefoil) by Saint Patrick when preaching in Ireland, that led to its adoption as an Irish symbol.
The dinner reception was praised by all the guests.
Among the guests, Ambassadors, Ministers and members of several diplomatic missions, Brazilian governmental authorities and representatives of Brazilian and international companies as BMW.

The ladies from the Latin countries also were present at the
event. Here, the ambassadresses Teresa de Baez, from the
Dominican Republic, Carina Faillace Roldán, from Guatemala,
Rosa Maria Alvarado de Lozano, from Honduras and Ana
Josefina Cumare de García, from the Embassy of Venezuela,
brought their charms to the evening.
The reception was extremely pleasant, especially with the ambience filled with the exquisite jazz played by Affinity Jazz Trio, and the cheerfulness of the Irish, so well known in all the world.
Affinity Jazz Trio, certainly the most expressive jazz band in Brasília,
moved the guests to the sounds of John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Billy
Vaughn and other great jazzists.
Citizens from Ireland, living in Brasília, were proud on their country's
National Day and celebrated the evening in the Irish style.
The date of the celebration of the Irish National Day is usually celebrated with parades, drinkin and eating with a lot of joy. This year, the Embassy of Ireland prepared the Irish Stew, one of the most traditional dishes in Ireland and all the guests enjoyed the evening tremendously, at this joyful and delightful event, crowned by the sympathy and thoughtfulness of Ambassador Martin Greene, always kind to everyone.
