The embassy of Dominican Republic celebrated the 162nd anniversary of the National Independence. In the National Day in March 2006, the ambassador Manuel Morales Lama received dozens of guests to a reception in his residence in Lago Sul, Brasília.

The ambience as of joy and friendship among the guests, which were in the halls of the residence and in a hall specially decorated in the garden of the residence. Professional musicians played good music filling the air with joy.

The ambassador Manuel Morales Lama is in Brazil for five months. He is a career diplomat for more than twenty years and he is also a respectful member from academic community. He was ambassador on Venezuela, Israel and Cyprus. He is the author of the book Diplomacia Contemporânea, Teoria e Prática para o Exercício profissional that received a homage with the Prêmio Nacional de Didática “Manuel De Jesús Pena y Reynoso”, offered by the State Secretariat of Education, Fine Arts and Culture of Dominican Republic, a part of the literature awards of that country. The ambassador is also a member of the Instituto Hispano Luso Americano del Derecho Internacional, since 1996, when he was associated. In 1999 he began as an academic in the Mexican Academy of International Law with the thesis “Rol de la Protección Diplomática em Âmbito de lãs Relaciones Internacionales”.

The ambassador Manuel Morales Lama and the other dominican diplomats in Brazil have collaborated with the intensification of the bilateral relations between Dominican Republic and Brazil, specially in areas of commerce and culture.
