| The National Day of Senegal was celebrated on April 29 2009, when the ambassador of that country, Mr. Fodé Seck, hosted a dinner party for hundreds of people at the embassy on Setor de Embaixadas Norte. |

| After the arrival of the guests, the anthems of Brazil and Senegal were played and then ambassador Seck made a speech highlighting the friendly relations of Senegal and Brazil and also announcing his departure from Brazil this year. His speech was very praised by all the guests. |
