NATIONAL DAY OF SOUTH AFRICA 2010

The embassy of South Africa celebrated the National Day of its country by performing a reception for hundreds of people at the official residence on the night of April 27, 2010.

Zakumi, the official mascot of the FIFA World Cup, was displayed at the embassy’s entrance hall.

Dozens of guests were at the event.

The event was under the spirit of the FIFA World Cup, which will be held this year in that country. A large doll of Zakumi, the official mascot of the FIFA World Cup, was displayed at the embassy’s entrance hall and the areas inside the embassy were also decorated with large panels about the sport event. A big screen was showing movies about South Africa.

The spirit of FIFA World Cup could be felt at the event.

The event decoration included many posters about South Africa and the FIFA World Cup.

Ambassador from many countries were at the event.

Ambassador Bangumzi Sifingo and other diplomats of South Africa were greeted by hundreds of guests for the important date in a special year for that country. Among the guests were ambassadors, diplomats, Brazilian government officials, businessmen and members of the society of Brasilia.

After the arrival of all, Ambassador Bangumzi Sifingo gave a speech thanking all those present and emphasizing the good relations between his country and Brazil. He also spoke about the FIFA World Cup and said he expects the final match to be played between the two countries. After his speech, the Brazilian ambassador Piragibe dos Santos Tarragô made remarks about the increasing relations between Brazil and South Africa and greeted all South Africans in the name of the Brazilian government for their National Day. The speeches were praised by all the guests.

Then the ambassador invited everyone to know the Diski Dance (the 2010 FIFA World Cup proudly South African Dance), performed by Brasilia’s students, who also narrated what the 2010 South African host cities will be offering during the World Cup. After the performance, the guests enjoyed a celebration dinner, music and mingling.
