NATIONAL DAY OF sri lanka 2011

On February 4th, the Embassy of Sri Lanka celebrated its National Day. The event took place at the embassy, located at the neighborhood of Lago Sul, where the ambassador of Sri Lanka, Mr. Adam Maznavee Jaufer Sadiq, received the guests.

Dozens of guests were at the event.

Among the guests there were Ambassadors, Brazilian and foreign diplomats, Brazilian government authorities, businessmen and members of Brasília society.

After the guests’ arrival, the National anthems of Brazil and Sri Lanka were played. After that, there was a religious ceremony, when leaders of different religions prayed and blessed the country of Sri Lanka.

Ambassador of Sri Lanka, Mr. Adam Sadiq, started the religious ceremony.

Then, the ambassador of Sri Lanka gave a speech thanking the presence of all and highlighting the friendship of Sri Lanka and Brazil. Ambassador George Prata, Representative of the Brazilian Government, also gave a speech congratulating the Sri Lanka Government for its National Day. Both speeches were much applauded by the guests.

After the speech, the ambassador Adam Maznavee Jaufer Sadif invited all guests to go to the embassy dinning hall, where everyone could taste some traditional delicacies from that beautiful country.

At the end of the event, all guest received souvenirs from Sri Lanka.

Miss Rosyane Alves, Representative of THE GUIDE Business Consultancy, received a souvenir from the Embassy of Sri Lanka.
