We are living peaceful times, but the younger generations must understand the terrible thing a war is, but also the union of good always prevails over evil. That is the lesson to be left to the actual generations”.
Ambassador Mr. Vladimir Tyurdenev gave his speech after the anthems were played, praising the union of mankind against the atrocities of war and for peace.
THE GUIDE also talked to Mr. Yurii Bogaievsky, Ambassador of Ukraine, was touched by the date and all the memories it brought. “This is a solemn day. I was born in 1942, during the war, and I remember some things of it. Our country was destroyed. I remember that my brother had a book in which he wrote his thoughts and kept pictures and described how everybody cried on May 9. The relief was unanimous. So I think that people have to remember this episode and pay tribute to those who saved Europe . Still today cry, I mean, take Mr. Petro Rybka, for example, what kind of emotions doesn't he have on this day? Thank God we live in a different world, now, and we are all together, in peace”.
