The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which is formed by 10 countries, celebrated its 40th anniversary, holding a great party at the residence of Indonesian ambassador on August 8th of 2007. |

The guests were received by the ambassadors of Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, and after the arrival of all guests, the ambassador of Indonesia, Mr. Bali Moniaga welcomed everyone. Then, the ambassador of Thailand, Mrs. Siree Bunnag, made a speech emphasizing the economic importance of Asian countries and the growth of relations among them and Brazil. Her speech was very much applauded by all the guests. |

The ambassador of Thailand, Mrs. Siree Bunnag, representing all the ambassadors members of ASEAN, delivered commemorative plates to authorities of Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chamber of Deputies and Federal Senate. The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Deputy Arlindo Chinaglia, thanked in name of Brazilian government for the act of sympathy and friendship. |
