Africa's Day was celebrated in Brasília on May the 28th 2009, when hundreds of people were present at the Clube das Nações to take part at a great party organized by the African embassies. |

Upon arrival, the guests were welcomed by the African ambassadors and were directed to the club's social halls, were a large structure was put together for the event. Right at the entrance there was a nice exhibition of artwork from that beautiful continent's many countries. There was also a very fine decoration, in indication that the party was going to be unforgettable. The party also counted with sponsorship by companies such as Bsbcor Corretora de Seguros (Insurance Company) and BMW Diplomatic Sales, which had in exhibition a nice X6 model, as well as a BMW motorbike. |

The evening was perfect for the great celebration that took place in the club's social halls and patios. Ambassadors, Brazilian and foreign diplomats, Brazilian governmental officers, businessmen and people from Brasília's society were all there to fraternize with the African families, always friendly and welcoming. |

When all the guests had arrived, the African ambassadors thanked everyone for their presence and announced the start of the festivities with a nice welcome pageant with the ambassador's wives, followed by a pageant of typical garments from that beautiful and exotic continent. |

The guests were then invited to dinner, which was a unique gastronomic event, with every embassy bringing typical dishes from their countries. It was difficult to say what was the tastiest food among so many wonderful options. Fruits and typical sweets were also offered as dessert in an exquisite dinner. |

After the fine commemorative dinner, an exhibition of typical African dances began, and everyone was captivated by the lively rhythms from the African countries and their beautiful cultural performances, much applauded by everyone. |

The ambassadors were roundly congratulated for the event's success, and Mr. Diaby Vacaba, Counselor of the Cote d’Ivoire Embassy and President of the Grupo de Diplomatas e Adidos Africanos – GADA, also welcomed everyone's special thanks, being as he was responsible for the organization of the Africa's Day commemorative events, which also included a Football Tournament and a walk in which dozens of people took part. |
