The "Grupo Amigas do Brasil" (Group Friends of Brazil), formed by wives of diplomats and Brazilian ladies held their first meeting of 2008 on February 21st. |

| The meeting occurred in the residence of the new President of the group for the year 2008, Mrs. Rosa Maria Alvarado de Lozano, wife of the Ambassador of Honduras in Brazil, Mr. Victor Manuel Lozano Urbina. During the meeting, the ladies shared ideas of what to do this year and how to collect money for charity. The group decided to organize a beneficent tea, which was held at the Melia Brasilia Hotel last March. |

| The activities of the Grupo Amigas do Brasil have the cooperation of the N.G.O. ETHIKE, directed by Mrs. Joelle Karkour. The organization seeks the democratic promotion of culture, arts and education and supports the group Amigas do Brasil in their social work. |

| The beneficent tea held at March 06 had the presence of dozens of ladies from many countries and also from Brasilia’s society. The successful event was sponsored by the Melia Brasilia Hotel and happened at one of the hotel’s restaurant. |

| The President of the Grupo Amigas do Brasil, Mrs. Rosa Maria Alvarado de Lozano, thanked Mr. Pérsio Gomes de Mello Junior, Sales Manager of the Melia Brasília Hotel, for the initiative of cooperation with the group, which has this year the objective to help the "Casa do Menino Jesus” (an aid institute to children in need and with cancer) and the “Lar dos Velhinhos” ( a house for elderly citizens). |
