At Banco Central do Brasil (Brasil’s Central Bank), on October 31st, 2007, the Ambassador of The Czech Republic, along with the ambassadors of Austria, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, welcome the guests to the exhibition “ A Europa Central de 1759 a 1918” (The Central Europe from 1759 to 1918). |

The opening ceremony took place at the Museu de Valores (Values Museum) at Banco Central do Brasil (Brazil’s Central Bank), located at Setor Bancário Sul. Among the guests there were several diplomats, ambassadors, the president of Banco Central do Brasil, Mr. Henrique Meirelles, and members of the Brazilian society. To officially open the exhibition, both Mr. Henrique Meirelles and the ambassador of the Czech Republic, Mr. Václav Hubinger, gave speeches about the importance of money in society. |

After the speeches, the guests enjoyed a cocktail and were able to see the paper money and coins displayed at the Museum. The money is from 1759, the monarchy period, until 1918 when Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, declared their independences. |
