The Intercontinental Hotel of São Paulo promoted from September 26th to October 1st, 2005, the Gastronomic Festival of Coimbra.
The launching dinner of the event took place in the hotel’s Di Cavalcanti Meeting Room and had the presence of businessmen, members of the Consul Society of São Paulo and members of Paulista society.

The guests took part of an opening cocktail , offered in the hall of hotel’s events area, where everybody could taste typical appetizers from Portugal.
When the dinning room was open, all the guests were took in by the host of the event, Mr. Paulo Machado, who made a short speech expressing gratitude by the presence of each one, as well as the partnership established with the Intercontinental Hotel, which, with its attentive staff, watch over every single detail, looking for the excellence of the event.

The following speech was made by Mr. Carlos Moura, representing Vinicola Dão, who shortly introduced that beautiful European country, its wines and its diversified culinary from many Portuguese regions. His words were followed by the exhibition of images of Portugal, projected in a large screen placed in the dinning room.

Then, the lucky guests could taste the delicious Portuguese culinary, as sea food salads and, surely, the traditional and unforgettable codfish with boiled potatoes, everything prepared by Chef Cacilda Corria. During the meal, all the guests could appreciate the excellent Portuguese music, interpreted by the singer Maria de Lourdes, altogether with the sound of acoustic and Portuguese guitars.

After all, nobody could resist to the temptation of experimenting the authentic ‘pastelzinhos de Tentugal’, traditional Portuguese dessert, which top expectation the most exigent tastings.
