| On January 21st, the Ambassador of Germany, Mr. Friedrich Prot von Kunow, hosted many guests in his home to gather funds destined to aid the victims of the Tsunami in Sri Lanka. Not only the Ambassador himself but all the diplomats of the German Embassy endeavoured to make it a wonderful evening. |

| The event was an initiative of the German Ambassador and coordinated by the Embassy of Germany.The Ambassador of Sri Lanka General Rohan de Silva Daluwatte and his wife Jayanthi Rohini Daluwatte, received the honors. The money was destined to the construction of common houses for those who have lost their homes due to the disaster. |

| The main attraction of the special evening was the exquisite music show with a varied and rich repertoire, performed by the German diplomats Capitain of War and Sea Hans-Joachim Liedtke and Mr. Manoel Campos, Social Affairs Attaché, who please all the guests with folk music, romantic, pop, country, blues, sung in German, English, Portuguese and Spanish. |

| The Ambassador Mr. Friedrich Prot von Kunow, who led the initiative, explained how happy and honored he was to be serving the cause. After his speech, General Rohan thanked all the guests and the Ambassador Mr. Friedrich Prot von Kunow for the splendid contribution, commenting the suffering of his country, but mainly the hope and joy that are born from initiatives like this and surpasses the pain. |

| All the people who contributed could participate of a draw of several prizes at the end of the evening and donated by companies that support the victims of the Tsunami. Mr. Gisbert Verse, Diplomatics Sales Representative from BMW in Brasília, brought for the lottery BMW Kits with shirts, hats and other souvenirs. "It is impossible to remain insensitive to this major tragedy which took place in Asia. I am happy to help and I sympathize to the Ambassador of Sri Lanka", he said. The gifts included an airplane ticket from Brasília to Germany, won by the Ambassador of Switzerland Mr. Rudolf Baerfuss who, in a fine gesture, auctioned the ticket and donated the money to the cause. |

| Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira, Director of THE GUIDE and Administrative Director of ASDIBRA was present at the event and congratulated the Ambassador of Germany for the initiative and expressed his sympathy towards the Ambassador of Sri Lanka. "It is crucial the aid of everyone for those who are in deep sorrow. THE GUIDE has publicized the Banking Account number of the Embassy of Sri Lanka for donations, and I hope the donations increase each day", he said. |
