"Arte Portuguesa em Brasília" - Portuguese Art in Brasília
The Embassy of Portugal, celebrating the National Day of Portugal, and the "Instituto Camões" invite the public of Brasília to redicover Portugal through modern and contemporary arts. The Ambassador of Portugal, Mr. Francisco Seixas da Costa, presents the exhibition "Arte Portuguesa em Brasília" (Portuguese Art in Brasília), which shows pieces of several renowned Portugese artists. They are oil on canvas, drawings, photographs and graving work by artists such as Vieira da Silva, Almada Negreiros, Hogan, Paula Rego, Julio Pomar, Eduardo Nery, Pedro Proença, Pedro Cabrita Reis, Ruy Sanches, Graça Pereira Coutinho, Artur Barrio, Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, Júlio Pomar, David de Almeida, José de Guimarães, among others.
The goal of the Embassy is to publicize the art and culture of Portugal, taking advantage of the celebrations. The pieces are part of the collection of the Embassy of Portugal in Brazil and private collections. The exhibition is organized by the curator Karla Osorio Netto.
