The Ambassador of the United States, Mr. Clifford M. Sobel, his wife, Mrs. Barbara Sobel and diplomats from that country, promoted a special exhibition of the children's movie "Charlotte's Web" for dozens of needy children from Distrito Federal.

The feature presentation took place at the Cine Academia in a Saturday morning, February 10th of 2007, at the Academia de Tênis de Brasilia and had the support of the club, besides the Paramount Pictures and Motion Picture Association support.

The event had the presence of dozens of children from the needy communities of Brasilia, besides the kids who were taken care by the ABRACE - Associação Brasileira de Assistência às Famílias de Crianças Portadoras de Câncer e Hemopatias (Brazilian Association of Support to the Families with Children with Cancer and Hemopathies). Everyone was excited with the tour on that beautiful sunny morning. Authorities, diplomats and members of the Brasilia's society also attended to the event, giving the support to this nice initiative made possible by the American embassy.

When arriving, the children received t-shirts from the movie and also had lots of popcorn and soda for them. After that, everyone sat down to enjoy a presentation from the Jazz Band from the American School of Brasilia, with the Maestro Vadim Arsky at the helm. The fun rhythms set the event's tone and the joyfulness and happiness were a constant. For Mrs. Zilma C. Gomes, Coordinator of the Paranoa Unit from the Pioneer Federation of Brazil, the event was very appreciated by the kids and should be also promoted by other embassies. “We serve 200 children at Paranoa, which 60 of them are here today. I thank all of you for this great event and I wish that we can always give these children the joy that we see here today", she stated.

After everyone's arrival, Mr. Abel Fernandes, Community Liaison Officer from the American embassy, welcomed everyone and thanked the support given for the realization of the event. After that, Mrs. Erica Chiccola talked about the importance of fighting movie and CD piracy, an initiative that was applauded by all. And finally, the American Ambassador, Mr. Clifford M. Sobel saluted the children and guests and said it was gratifying to promote an event like that. He also thanked the support from Cine Academia, Academia de Tênis and also from the other companies that supported the event's realization. His quick speech was very applauded by everyone and the Ambassador and his wife posed for pictures with the kids for the various communication vehicles that attended to the event.

Everyone was invited to go inside the movie theater, where a dubbed version of the movie "Charlotte's Web" was shown. The beautiful and touching movie was very applauded, mainly by the kids, which many of them were at the movie theater for the first time.
Everyone approved the event.
