On October 30th, 2007, the Venezuelan Embassy together with Ayacucho Library and the cultural support of the Odebrecht company launched, in the Portuguese version, the book Simón Bolivar, o Libertador (Simón Bolivar, The Liberator). The ceremony occurred at auditorium one of the Museu Nacional (National Museum), located at Conjunto Cultural da República, Esplanada dos Ministérios. |

The ceremony started with a welcome speech made by Mr. Afonso Magalhães, president of the Museu Nacional, followed up by the exhibition of a documentary about Simón Bolivar, produced by the Venezuelan Ministry of Culture and Sports. After the movie exhibition, the Ambassador of Venezuela, Mr. Julio Garcia Montoya and ambassador of Panama, Mr. Juan Bosco Bernal gave speeches about the importance of Bolivar to the Latin America on his time and nowadays. That’s why both ambassadors emphasized how the book, and its version in Portuguese, is essential for people’s cultural enrichment, especially for Brazilians. |

The book gathers the hundred most important documents of Simón Bolivar, the man who, among other fights and conquers, was responsible for the freedom of Venezuelan, Colombian, Bolivian and The Panama Republics. After the exhibition of the documentary, the guests were invited to a cocktail celebrating the book launch. |
