| On September 19th, for the first time in history, Brazil received the visit of an Austrian President when Dr. Heinz Fischer landed in the capital to discuss mutual cooperation agreements between the two nations with President Luis Inácio Lula da Silva. The Ambassador of Austria, Mr. Werner Brandstetter, organized an official dinner reception with the main representatives of the foreign Embassies in Brasília and the highest level of Brazilian Government Authorities. |

| The guests were received at the entrance of the Austrian Embassy by the Ambassador of Austria, Mr. Werner Brandstetter, and his wife, Ambassadress Leonie Maria Brandstetter. At the gardens of the Embassy, at the backyard, the guests gathered to chat and taste two renowned drinks from Austria, the energizer Red Bull and the premium beer Austria Bier, while they waited for the arrival of the President. |

| At the arrival, the guests were individually introduced to the President of Austria by Ambassador Brandstatter. Then, the Ambassador gave a brief speech celebrating the coming of President Dr. Heinz Fischer and thanking the presence of all guests. Following the Ambassador’s speech, Dr. Heinz Fischer also spoke to the guests giving his impression of what it was to be the first Austrian President ever to visit Brazil and the satisfaction of being part of the promising agreements being signed between the two nations. |

| Both nations are working on agreements of technical cooperation in several areas of knowledge, especially in the areas of Renewable Sources and the Environment, of Rural Development and Education, among others, with the goal of deepening the bilateral relations between Brazil and Austria and promoting the execution of the projects of specific activities being created now. |
