Dear friends from the Diplomatic Corps,
I appreciate all the help that many of you have given to the needy entities of Brazil. Actions like yours have been making the difference to improve the life of thousands of needy people on the most different communities. |
| Needy children from Cavalcante city. |
| Recently, I visited a social project at the city of Cavalcante, at the State of Goias, and I would like you to know a little bit about the reality of a community formed by extremely poor families, which with the help of a committed and hard-working group with the creation of a better future, have reached the hope to get a different reality for their kids. |
| Families live in great poverty. |
| Poor and precarious houses. |
A community that needs help. |
| This group is coordinated by a man who is a role model on the work to help others. His name is Kaibar Emídio da Silveira and during my trip, I could follow all of his efforts and dedication to take dignity to the many needy people of the region. |

| A project made with seriousness and professionalism for the improvement of the community's life. |
| Cavalcante is located approximately 350 km from Brasilia (70km far from the famous "Chapada dos Veadeiros"). It's a city that needs a lot of outside help, because it doesn't have its own subsistence economy. Among its population - which is less than 6000 people - there are hundreds of families living on extreme poverty, being 149 families assisted by the social project that I visited. |
| A model of assistance work... |
| ...for the needy families. |
| Support includes meals for hundreds of children and adults. |
| A work to fight the malnutrition. |
| With the goal to help the needy community in a more complete way, Mr. Kaibar and his group created on the last March 25th the "Associação Filantrópica e Cultural Casa do Aprendiz" (House of the Apprentice Philanthropic and Cultural Association), also called as CASA DO APRENDIZ (HOUSE OF THE APPRENTICE). |
| Casa do Aprendiz will help the community. |
| Organized and conducted by its own statute, the Casa do Aprendiz is a non-profitable organization and its goal is to make activities on the areas assistance and social, cultural, beneficent and philanthropic promotions. This institution is free of any prejudice or discrimination of race, belief, color or political factions, whether being in its activities and social goals, or among the components of its associative board. |
| In precarious conditions, the Casa do Aprendiz is already serving to the community. |
| Recently born children are assisted with basic hygiene kit, toys and even cribs. |
| The headquarters of the Casa do Aprendiz is being built and at this moment there's the need of the group to receive financial help for the conclusion of the construction, a reason which I come to you, members of the Diplomatic Corps, to ask for your help, and contact me to talk about this matter. |
| The construction needs help for its conclusion. |
| I visited the construction myself and took pictures that can be seen here. I also have in my possession a copy of headquarter building's blueprint, which will have a big room for classes, bazaar area, barbershop, laundry, kitchen and a room for digital inclusion. The Mr. Kaibar's group has already spent R$ 35.000,00 in resources of their own at the construction of the Casa do Aprendiz and they still need financial aid to finish the construction work. |

| I am personally committed on the realization of this project because I know how much it will benefit the many needy families from that city. I'm at your disposition to accompany the people who want to know the Casa do Aprendiz at the city of Cavalcante and the nice social work made by the Mr. Kaibar's group with that community. |
| Please be part of this important project. |
| The volunteering work is rewarding. |
| Let's help the next one. |
| I'm also at your disposition to make a personal exhibition of this project for the groups of the Diplomatic Corps' members organized with the objective to make beneficent actions. For further information, please contact me at the phone (61) 3223-2323. |
| We can give a better future for these poor children. |
From now I thank everyone's efforts.
Considerately,
PEDRO PAULO MOREIRA
