THE EMBASSY OF GERMANY IS THE CHAMPION FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 2008
The winner teams: Embassies of Germany, United States of America and Russia.
The Embassy of Germany was the great Champion of the II THE GUIDE Beach Volleyball Tournament 2008, which took place last Saturday December 6th, repeating the result of the first tournament edition, which took place in the month of April. The United States Embassy got the second place an the Russia Embassy got the third place in a tournament with many breath taking flat outs. The tournament was sponsored by BMW Diplomatic Sales, Rita Trindade Odontologic Center, Positive Idioms, Amor de Pé Foot Spa, Konfeti Gift Store and Kerigma Events.

The tournament took place at Clube Naval of Brasilia in a wonderful sunny morning. Japan, Nigeria and Libya Embassies also sent their teams and THE GUIDE also formed a team in order to take part in the tournament.

A great family event!

The event was marked by fraternization and enthusiasm of cheer up by the supporters, which thrilled by each sore conquered by their teams. Libya and Nigeria teams had their ambassadors among their athletes and the President of THE GUIDE Business Consultancy also defended his team, which had players from several countries.

As in other tournaments, the games took place in a amusement and informality atmosphere. The referees were instructed to leave the games go on without asking for a high technical knowledge of the players. This way people who never had played before could take part in. The only requirement was that each team of 4 people had at least one female at the court.

As the tournament evolved, the final games got defined. In spite of disputed flat outs and breath taking moments in the games, THE GUIDE, Nigeria and Libya teams and one Russian team (the former took two teams) did not obtain the results to be among the four teams ranked on the top. The third place was disputed between Russia and Japan, this country brought an effort team and an organized and cheer supporters. Russia was one of the greatest supporters of the tournament and it brought the biggest athletes delegation and supporters. It is already a tradition that the Russians win a trophy in the beach volleyball tournaments and this time was not different, for they conquered the third place.

A great moment of fraternization!
The great final game was defined between Germany and the United States. The Americans surprised Germany with a game of high technical level and much resistance. Inspite of the Americans effort, Germany presented a team in court of four players (three Brazilians) with a high technical level and could beat the final game and become the champion for the second time in 2008.

After the games, everybody participated in a fraternization barbecue, at this moment the trophies and medals were handed over, and three gifts from Konfeti shop were drew for, which was one of the tournament sponsors.
President of THE GUIDE Business Consultancy, Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira, thanked the Tournament sponsors and the Clube Naval and with Mr. Bryan Clayton, Director of the Diplomat Association – ASDIBRA, gave to the winner teams the trophies and medals.
Mr. Ralf Alfred Kämper, from the embassy of Germany, received the Champion trophy from Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira, President of THE GUIDE Business Consultancy.
The Konfeti Gift Store sponsored the tournament and gave gifts for draw.
A barbecue was served at the event.

Special thanks also for the players who allowed THE GUIDE to dispute games of the tournament and the visitors as well, who came to watch the games and make the event a great fraternization moment.
