| The Embassy of Russia was the great champion of the 1 st THE GUIDE Volleyball Tournament 2007, after disputing a balanced match on the final against the team of the Embassy of Venezuela, which got the trophy for the second best team of the tournament. The embassy of Nigeria got the third place, which had the participation of the Ambassador Kayode Garrick among its athletes. |

| The fun event took place on the morning of March 31st, at Clube Naval de Brasilia and had the presence of ambassadors, diplomats, family members and friends. Everyone formed entertaining crowds to motivate their teams. |

The tournament was sponsored by the companies JORLAN Chevrolet and POSITIVE Idiomas. The executive Guisbert Verse, from JORLAN Chevrolet, presented at the event the new vehicle VECTRA model, sold with very special conditions to the embassies. The language course POSITIVE Idiomas, represented at the event by the language teacher Elise Brites, distributed during the event invitations for free classes of Portuguese for Foreigners, given at the residence or embassy. The POSITIVE Idiomas is known on the Diplomatic Corps for teaching Portuguese for foreigners and other 15 foreign languages, including Russian and Mandarin.

| The tournament day had a bright sky and a lot of sun and the games started around 9:00 in the morning. The embassy of Russia, with its team formed by Elena Dergunova, Artem Demushkin, Ivan Orlov and Bolat Oorzhak, demonstrated very good collective playing and the experience of having already won two champion trophies and one second-place trophy on the last 3 years. Its invincibility at the tournament was unquestionable and since the beginning it was already pointed out to be one of the favorites for the championship trophy. |

| Another favorite team to win the tournament was the team of Venezuela, which showed strength and balance during the games. It was the first time that the embassy of Venezuela participated on this kind of tournament and its team can already be considered one of the favorites to win the 2nd THE GUIDE Beach Volleyball Tournament 2007, which will happen on the next month of November. The Ambassador of Venezuela, Mr. Julio Montoya, was present at the event and was part of the Venezuelan crowd, which deserved the title of the most cheerful of the event. |

| The third place of the tournament was given to the Embassy of Nigeria, which participated for the second time on the volleyball tournament of the embassies. Its cheerful team had the Ambassador Kayode Garrick among its athletes. The participation of the Embassy of Nigeria is an example to be followed, because even though they didn’t have players used to play volley, they gave the opportunity for every member to participate of the games. |

After the games, Mr. Pedro Paulo Moreira, President of THE GUIDE Business Consultancy, company that organized the event, thanked for everyone’s presence and also for the support of the sponsoring companies, JORLAN Chevrolet and POSITIVE Idiomas. After that he invited Mr. Guisbert Verse and Elise Brites to give the medals to the winning athletes. |

| The teams were much applauded and the cordiality mood demonstrated during the event reached the main goal of the tournament, which was to provide the confraternization among the diplomats of many embassies and their family members. |

Everyone enjoyed the many seafood dishes and the nice view of the lake, on that beautiful sunny afternoon. |
